The Times, They Are Changing...But Some Things Will Never Change

Loyal Blog Readers.........

Wow...I guess you all ARE ready...here's a secret...we are ready too...we missed you guys...well...we know that we've forced many of you to keep up with our daily drama because you follow us on Twitter (umm, one of the more amusing moments of editing this blog..was re-reading our posts about Twitter in the very beginning...as if it was this big challenging process we had to master...we are such dorks..but then again..many of you already know that...) but Twitter forces us to limit our ramblings to 140 characters...loyal blog readers...do you know how many important words you have missed out on from us...nobody should have to limit the words they use...) (and you missed out on sooo many (...s-Dane Cook told us these are called Ellipticals :) ) and parenthesis...loyal blog readers...it is tragic...you all have been deprived...) Anyhow...the world has changed a lot since we took our little hiatus...well...at least the NKOTB world has changed...the tour ended (was Houston really almost 5 month ago) the boys do a great job of keeping in touch with everyone on Twitter...solo stuff has been released...we are being teased about what is upcoming (did everyone catch Donnie's tweets tonight about the next NKOTB album...(please picture that high pitched shreiky thing that the two of us do when we are together...if you haven't been subjected to it in person, please go back and watch our Tobin Bridge videos and you'll remember...and no...its not a pretty noise) The point is (so rare that we actually have one of those...) things are different now and so we are not completely sure how we will use our blog now that we are back...we used to use it to post information that we had...uh...come across (oh my, I do believe there is a certain someone out there (whose name rhymes (shame that I still don't know how to spell that word) with "red" who is NOT excited that we have returned...) but now the boys can share the information themselves on Twitter...or we can tweet it out to everyone...we used to talk about our shows...but...the boys aren't really doing shows on a regular basis right now...we used to talk about random nonsense...and well...we still plan on talking about random nonsense...but you can't fill a whole blog with random nonsense...well...at least not when you are the type of bloggers that may..or may not...post 9 times on the same day (yeah, I'm not kidding...we realized that when we were editing last night...silly silly SILLY girls...why do you all put up with us!) but in all seriousness...we are asking for a little patience as we try to figure out what exactly we are going to do with this forum...we plan on still sharing info we find..still posting pictures and telling the wild tales of our many adventures that we are positive are in our future...and of course we will share our opinionated thoughts on random things...we're just not sure how it's all going to go...so bare with us...please...we'll try to make it worth your while...

The other thing we wanted to address is why we left...and how that affects the blog going forward...we feel awful...because for many of you...we pulled a disappearing act..we were in the midst of our Jam-packed June Tour (I mean...who comes up with these ridiculous names...and why do we think we are funny...) and one morning you logged on to check for an update and we were gone...poof...without an explanation (please don't think its because our tour ended, oh no, our tour continued, right up to the last show!)...well...we want to give you a little bit of an explanation now...but first...we need....(can anyone guess what I'm about to type...five points if you can guess it...) a little backstory...

For a long time we (ok...hold up...this is a major moment...a big secret is about to be revealed...this is big....would the historian secretary for the World Blogging Association please be prepared to mark this down and file it in the archives...are you ready...are you sure you are ready to know this...it might change your worlds forever...stop reading if you don't think you are ready...ok...deep breath....the "we" I am referring to...yeah...that we (not to be confused with Wii)...the two people that make up that we....yeah...they aren't named Meghan and Michelle...ooophhhh....there its out...you guys are surprised...right? Don't anyone cry...here's another little secret...our names don't even start with "M"s...we're Kerry and Holly...yup...(and that is an appropriate use/placement of the word...I'm not attempting to copy Mr. Wahlberg...) We are well aware that many of you already know that...because...well...we've met a ton of you (which is also something that makes doing this blog so different then it was in the beginning...def cool) but people...this is huge for us...for the past year, we have used (on an incredibly frequent basis...) different names...no, I'm not kidding...its kinda crazy...do you have any idea how many times we had to answer the question "Which one is Meghan and which one is Michelle" Do you know how many perplexed looks we received when we said...well...actually....I'm Kerry, and she's Holly....) ooohhh...wowsers...it feels good to have that out there officially...in a way I'll miss M&M...afterall...it was kinda fun having an alterego (don't you worry, 13 year old Meghan, she's still around, her name is just 13 year old Kerry now...) and if we didn't sign off as M&M every night, we would've never put M&M's on the back of the the Missing Sh*t Shirts...and they were a huge part of our past year...so yeah...M&M...they were fun...they will hold a spot in our hearts...but they have been put away...at least until we slip up and sign off w M&M because we are so conditioned to do that... (is anyone, anyone at all, surprised that it has taken me 22 lines to begin talking about what I said I was going to talk about in this paragraph...) Anyway, the reason I unloaded that secret is because I wanted to talk about how this all began...we (quick no peeking, how do you spell K's name (Good Job Loyal Readers! you were paying attention!) had talked about doing a blog forever...a year ago, we sat down and committed to doing it...it was supposed to be an anonymous forum where we could put down in writing our many adventures...for us...not really for the world to see...but so that we would have them and be able to look back upon them...it wasn't just going to be about our NKOTB adventures (I'm not sure we even realized at that point how badly we had been bitten by the "bug") (ok...someone out there is currently saying "no really...they flew to Seattle for a concert, and didn't realize they were a little bit addicted...but really...if we had stopped at that point...I don't think it would've been classified as an addiction...we probably would have just said we were enthusiastic...enthusiasts..yeah...I like that word...but regardless...we were going to write about all types of things...our crazy daily experiences...and because of this we chose to make it anonymous....we took different names...we renamed everything in our life...this wasn't something that we were planning on sharing...and then we met Donnie and so many people wanted the story and so we introduced our blog to the NKOTB world...this was a wonderful thing...we found ourselves a nice little niche and had a blast getting to know all of you loyal readers...but our desire was still to keep this separate from our "real life" personal worlds and certainly our professional lives...and here began the problems...

There are actually two separate issues...first, our personal lives...somehow...whether it was us not being careful enough with who we talked about the blog with or our friends being super interested in seeing what we were so excited about...the fact that we had a blog got out to people in our personal life...and here's the thing...its not that this was about keeping secrets from our loved ones...its not that if anyone of them were to ask us questions, we wouldn't answer them...its not that we were ashamed of anything we were doing...its just that sometimes...when things are anonymous...you can be a little freeer...a little sillier...you can forget that you are in your thirties and gush over a "boyband" as if you were still 13...its safe...its all in good fun..its supposed to be anonymous...its like writing in your diary when you're thirteen...or making wishes when you blow out the candles on your cake...its something you keep to yourself...you don't expect your brother to be reading excerpts from you diary at the dinner table...you don't expect your mom to be explaining to you how it is not realistic to wish for the things you wished for...this is bad enough when you are actually 13...when you are in your 30's escaping to a world where it's safe to play 13 again..well...its especially bad...so again...were we mad that our loved ones discovered and started to follow our every move on the blog...no, not really...the purpose was never to block them out of anything...but did it change things for us...absolutely...the 13 year old playground...it was different now...not as much fun...but ultimately...our loved ones...they know us....really well...they heard about our adventures firsthand...they know we are dramatic, spontaneous, a little crazy...and they love us anyway, and so while we weren't thrilled with them following along, we accepted it...and were ok with it...

What we never expected...was that our little silly anonymous blog...would wind up in the hands of people in our professional lives...and that these people would pass it on to other people, and that it would continue to be passed on...we are both young (ish?) professional businesswoman who already strive on an everyday basis to maintain a professional image with the many "clients" we come in contact with. The childcare field is not always looked upon as a profession...some people degrade it, pretend like we are just babysitters versus managers of a business...a successful business (knock on wood) being young, adds to the challenge...so when we realized that so many people had been introduced to something in our lives that was supposed to be an escape, something silly and fun, something that we should have been able to keep private...we were honestly quite shocked...and immediately decided to shut it down...again, not because we thought we were doing something wrong, or were ashamed but more because this information changed things a bit for us...the fun had been sucked out of it...you know...everyone has someone that they vent to...you come home from a crazy day and you call your best friend, your sister, your mom or grab dinner with your husband and you share the crazy stories about your day. These people listen to you, joke with you, try to make you laugh over these stories but for the most part can't really appreciate them...its rare to find an audience that can appreciate the daily stories, gripes, etc. We were lucky enough to find that audience in you loyal blog readers...you appreciated the stories, the gripes...you logged on each day to check in, shared your comments...you made it fun...but having all of these people from our professional life not only mixing themselves up into that audience, but feeling as if they should be able to pass judgement on it...it ruined it a bit and we didn't want to continue...

This made us really sad..especially as we would talk to you at concerts, Donnie's parties, on twitter and you would ask us to bring the blog back. This really touched us and we began to talk about whether it would be ok for us to bring back the blog...whether there was a way to keep the fun, knowing that as soon as the blog came back, some of those people from our professional lives would be one of the first ones back following as well...it took us a long time...and many conversations....

But we decided that its a task we would like to take on. We are aware that people from all areas of our world are going to start following us again...but we really enjoyed being bloggers and despite some of the negatives...are hoping to capture some of that enjoyment again.

As we mentioned, we don't know exactly how we will use the blog going forward and are still trying to edit the blog a bit to get it to where we want it. Over the next few weeks, you'll notice some changes being made and some of our older posts coming back (yeah...we are SOOO sorry you Loyal Blog Readers who are followers, that you are getting a new email each time we bring back an old post..we wish we could get around that happening ...:-( ) You will also notice a lot of things that don't return. A lot of the silly things that happen in our every day life that we won't be able to discuss any longer because its not appropriate when it is no longer an anonymous forum (and the last 5 months are chock full of stories involving the people in our work life that I wish I could share with you!). It really is sad that we will have to censor ourselves from now on and in a way, your fun was taken away too. But, we hope you will want to keep checking it out...we promise to still post fun stuff, to share information as we find it out, to apparently, as we proved tonight, ramble on for hours about random topics :-) ...we hope you still enjoy it...we hope you will continue to comment (yeah, we are currently putting blogger in blogger jail (we still like making up jails and assigning people to them..) because blogger STOLE all of our old comments!).

And our hope for those people that have come back, who are going to continue to follow our blog...those who may not be here for the right reasons, is that you are able to find something to add to your life, something that you enjoy...that makes you happy...that isn't at the expensive of someone else's happiness.

Thanks so much for coming back to us...

Kerry (who is commemorating blog anniversary week by revisiting her whooping cough-esque illness she had last year when the blog began)

and

Holly (had a REALLY hard time NOT typing Michelle!) who is wondering how long it will take for the Grammar police to reappear in the comment section...we know you continued to keep up with us...welcome back... :-)

NKOTB Honor the Passing of a Pop Legend....

R.I.P Michael Jackson 1958-2009

We don't know what to say about the sudden passing of Michael Jackson except that he was such an iconic figure from our childhood, the King of Pop, and the inspiration for so many artists of today...including our guys...NKOTB, who will be surely missed. In fact, the news shocked both of us much more then we ever thought it could.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Michael's family, especially the 3 children he left behind.

At the Detroit show last night (6/25/09) the boys paid tribute to Michael Jackson. They did a wonderful job, especially with such little time to prepare, and we thought you would all like to see it.

(Not our video, youtube video posted by menvael)-Thank you!

Remember that life is short, live each day like it might be the last one you have. Its not important what material things you have. Be able to look back and be happy with what you have accomplished, the relationships you have made, and the person that you are.

We've Got Friends....In So Many Places! And We Want to Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

The Bloggers are back on the Block.... that's right kids.... we are back to share our adventures with you! We didn't mean to abandon you! But, balancing all of our real life responsibilities and our hectic tour schedule was all that we could handle over the last few weeks! We are 10 shows into the our Full Service Tour (we missed 2 shows so far... Atlanta and Saratoga :( ) and we have 6 more to go (how many of you are placing bets that 6 more turns into 8 more, which turns into 10 more, wait, how many shows are actually left?????). But, here we are, hoping to catch up a little bit on our blogging during this little touring break that we have.

We are working on seperate blogs about our first 10 shows (Va Beach, Camden, Fairfax, Scranton, Pittsburgh, Jones Beach, PNC, Darien Lake, Mohegan and Mansfield). But, we wanted to take some time to thank all of our friends and the other people that have spent time with us along the way, all those people who have helped to make this tour a memorable one so far :)

We've told you time and time again, but we will say it one more time (who are we kidding....I'm sure we are gonna say it a lot more then one more time, and after the Houston show...we will probably be saying through big, fat, sobs....) the boys coming back into our lives again has made us soooooooo happy! BUT, one of the best things about the reunion is the friends we have made along the way. Its funny, because during the fall/spring tours, up on the B Stage, Joe would say, night after night, about how the NKOTB reunion brought old friends together. We're not saying that Joe was spewing lies up there on that stage, We're sure there are many people out there who called up their high school best friend and said "Hey, ya wanna go to a NKOTB show with me?". We are even willing to admit that we found a few people on Facebook because of the NKOTB reunion. But, we have made so many new friends, our "nkotb friends", because of this reunion. People who we can share this experience with, people who understand the current role that NKOTB plays in our life, people who are right there next to us at 5, 10, 15 shows, people who are also being ridiculed by their loved ones for their NKOTB obsession, people who have not just become a part of our lives, but a really important part of our daily life. Even though most of them live many states away, we talk to these people every day either on twitter, email, texting, facebook, the phone. we don't know what the future may hold, when NKOTB is gone again (which unfortunately may happen quicker then we are all ready for :(...gulp), but we hope that these people, who are now our friends because 5 guys from Boston decided to start singing again, will be a part of our lives for a long time to come.

And we would like to Thank them for making this experience so much better then it would be without them.....

Michelle, Meghan, and Vanessa

Baaanessa has been our partner in crime for every show thus far....and we expect that we will be teaming up with her in the future for a few more shows! Vanessa has shared a lot of laughs with us, usually from the backseat of the car (did you know that she has a car laugh???)! And although she has tried to assault Meghan with glitter and is at times a little pokey, we have enjoyed our adventures tremendously. Come Oooon! Its a shame more people couldn't be part of "our tour" right V? :)

Meghan, Michelle and Vanessa

M cubed-Meghan, Melissa, and Michelle :)

Melissa was our first NKOTB friend....we met her one freezing cold day back in December in Boston and she is still (and hopefully always will be!) one of our favorite people! We have braved some sketchy areas together, masterminded together, laughed together...we are so glad that we have gotten to share so many of these experiences with you.... Even if sometimes you have had PLENTY of us :)

Vanessa, Meghan, Michelle and Irene

Irene...what to say about Irene...There is no one like you in the World! You make us smile more then you will ever know! We are so glad that we met you! First online, and then in line at Regis and Kelly. You are a very special person. We appreciate the amount of times you have opened up your "Hello Kitty Haven" to us so we would have a place to stay while visiting "Beantown"! We can't wait to share all of the other adventures we know are coming our way!

Meghan and Irene

The PNC Breakfast Club :) I think there were 30 of us total that night! We took over the Diner!

Meghan, Michelle, Jamie, Jamie's Home Friend Oh Jamie.... It had been soooooooo long since I saw you last! One of the last times we were together I tried to make you a Nick Lachey fan....it didn't go over so well :( But there you came, to the Camden concert, just to see me! I will never forget halfway through the concert Meghan looking at me and saying "I just got a text from Jamie that says 'I think I love Donnie Wahlberg' ". We got a little chuckle over your new found love, a bigger chuckle when Donnie, who was not giving out individual hugs and pictures that night, took some photos with you for us, and I think we got the biggest laugh of all when you ended the night with "I'll see you next weekend at PNC!". Oh Jamie..... I'm glad we could help you to become a fan :) (Michelle has always talked so highly of you and it has been so much fun getting to know you and realizing that everything she has said is true...whether it's holding a giant digital camera, or jumper cables, you make me smile :-)

Jamie and Michelle

Meghan, Kristi, Michelle, Christina To the Best 5* Group EVER (Group K is for Kickass!)! You have no idea how surreal it was to look over a table in Boston, filled with all of our Boston friends, and see our South Carolina 5* friends sitting there with us! It was so great to get to spend another NKOTB experience with you ladies! Who knew, when we wrote that post on the NKOTB boards many, many months ago in search of a 5* group that we would find some of the nicest people we had ever met. We're glad we did 5* once in our life, it wasn't horrible, but, it wasn't that great, its certainly not something we plan to do again. But, it was all worth it because we had THE BEST TIME and met some of the most AWESOME people we have ever known! And to Sabrina, Desiree, Amy, Chelsea, Denise, and Aimee, who we didn't get to see this go around... YOU GIRLS ARE AMAZING TOO! We are so glad that we got to know you and can call you friends! Meghan, Heather, Kristi, Michelle, and Melissa

And Heather....We're not sure where we picked you up along the way ;) Just kidding! We are so glad that we have gotten to know you as well (I mean who else would have been kind enough to hold 10 people's bags while they went in to take pictures with the boys????). We look forward to many more oppurtunities to get to know you better (TEXAS here we come!)

This is almost our whole crew! Melissa, Katie, Kayte, Erica, Vanessa, Irene, Meghan, Trish, Michelle, Stacy, Katie, Andrea, and Mel 30 Rock

This is a Motley Crew if we ever saw one! This was the random Jones Beach Diner Breakfast Club (unfortunately Donnie Wahlberg, Jon Knight, Earl, Armando, and Pajama Dave didn't want to pose for our group shot....but they were there....)

Mel30Rock, We're not sure we have another picture of you from the summer tour (though we do have a very nice video.....) so we are gonna show you your love here :) You, friend may be the only one who truly gets our sarcasum, a very important quality we look for in our friends! You have made us laugh since day one, and not just small little chuckles, side splitting belly laughs. I'm serious, if we spent more time with you, we may have abs from all the laughing! You are an amazing person...a good friend, a NKOTB diehard, a mommy and wife, and you deliver babies...what the heck! :) We are so glad to know you! When this is all over, we better still get our calls from 30rock... our SayNow Call Line will ALWAYS be open even if they close down the boys line!

Stacy, our adventure with you truly began on the Tobin Bridge and what a day that was! How could a group of people NOT be bonded and become friends after a Tobin Bridge adventure? The fun continued at the Launch Party and most recently at Mohegan and Mansfield. Glad we could rescue those jeans for you! We can't wait to see what is left to come in Texas :)

Align Center

Joe McIntyre, Michelle, Meghan and our Camden book collecting group!

Joe Mac you were so sweet to us in Camden! Telling all of us that you would remember us forever and sharing stories of your favorites books! We also enjoyed Barrett and Griffen's visit! We could tell how much reading is a part of Griffen's daily life (poor Barrett could hardly tear him away from the boxes of books!). What a little cutie he is already and not just that he is a charmer with his personality and his words :)

Vanessa, Meghan, Michelle, Ann Marie and Jamie

Jamie and J....who knew that the girls that were standing behind us in line (and going through the linecutter saga with us) would quickly become our good friends? A few concerts, TV show appearances, and a cruise later.... we now know that you ladies are awesome! So glad that we met you and have been able to share these adventures with you (even if some of it has been icognito cause NKOTB is your secret life :) ).

J, who we somehow managed to have no picture of from the summer tour....which means two things...You will HAVE to come to another summer show with us...and your cruise picture (yup the one of you sleeping in the hallway!) is getting posted!

Michelle, Shawn and Meghan

Our Twitter friend, the illusive Shawn, who has been in the same place, at the same time with us on a many occassion! Glad to know you really do exist! Hope we get to see you in Texas on your birthday! Awww....who are you kidding, we'll see you! We are coming to crash down the Bostons' Fort :)

Renee, Meghan, Michelle, and our littlest fan :) Glad that we could share another concert with you!

Angela (Starbucks Apron Girl), Meghan and Michelle

What an expereince (I'm not sure what word is best to describe the monsoon we camped out in on the streets of NYC) we shared together! It was awesome to meet you then and who knew you would appear on our summer tour! It was fun seeing you baskstage in Pittsburgh and hearing all of your Jon/Starbucks adventures! We know that we will be able to convince you to join us in Texas too!

Michelle and Andrea

Andrea, you like Irene, are someone we had talked to online throughout the whole Bunker Hill experience, but never really got to know. Then we met you in NYC in the line for Regis and Kelly and spent 36 hours out in the 8 degree weather together, if that doesn't bond people, nothing will! You are an amazing person, one of the most sweet and genuine people we know. We don't think that you have a mean or manipulative bone in your body! We have shared so many wonderful experiences and you are always, always the one looking out for everyone else, making sure we remember everything we need or just sending a picture or some music to brighten someone's day :) And, the best thing in Michelle's eyes, sometimes you drive and let her ride in the backseat :) Looking forward to Texas (Meghan will kidnap you if necessary...:)

Susie and Glennie

We're not sure how we went to two concerts with you and somehow have no photos of either of you....but we don't :( and you couldn't be left out! You two are amazing people....thats really it....it sums it up A-MAZ-ING! You have busy, busy lives as mommies, yet you come to these shows with survivial kits for the rest of us, homemade (KICKASS) brownies, printed out directiond for where we're suppossed to go to eat afterwards, and AAA cards... Its almost like my mom likes NKOTB and I get to take her to the shows with me (except younger and cooler-SORRY MOM! I still love you :) ).(Sassy thinks you're kinda cool too...being from Jerzee and all...:-)

The Bostons (Boston Jr, Boston Lyte, Boston), Donnie Wahlberg, Michelle, Vanessa, Meghan

Oh the Bostons....it has been an interesting road :) We're glad that we have ended up where we are! You girls are our partners in World Domination (though I think we should all continue to let Mr. Wahlberg think he introduced us, it may throw him off the whole WD plan!). You make us laugh non-stop, only the 3 of you could understand all of the silly stuff that we think is funny (could someone please explain to Mr Wahlberg about the croutons???? He is dying to know!)! You are an awesome team of super slueths, who are amazing at texting directions. Your skills in Fort building compare to no other.... and you are the only ones who understand the true meaning of being in Bum-f*ck-no-where where they advertise Pabst Blue Ribbon at concerts. We look forward to many more advetures to come (you still owe us a Jousting match!). Texas is going to be awesome and we haven't given up hope for Cincinnati....

Bostons and MD Girls Group Hug at some random truck stop in Bum-F*ck-No-Where

Monica...We're not sure why we didn't take a picture when we were sitting together in Jones Beach (such a fun surprise!) but we wanted you to know that we have enjoyed running into to you at concerts/events. It's been fun sharing these moments with you and we are so lucky to have a loyal blog reader who is as nice as you :-)

To everyone in the NKOTB organization....we interact with some of you on such a regular basis that we have to consider you friends now! Come on Armando....you know you missed us that one show we weren't backstage bothering you! And really Earl busted out with the word "sweeties" while motioning towards us....WHAT?!?!?!? Could you repeat that? PJ Dave...You are amazing and we don't know what we would do without you! Dave P....you my friend owe us something and we are coming to collect! Jason, you are gonna realize sooner or later that you are our friend too :)

Michelle, Robo, and Meghan
Robo!!!!! We are so glad to see you back! Thanks for the invite to the future events :) We will see you in a month or so!

Michelle, Jimmy Marsh, and Meghan

JIM-MY, JIM-MY, JIM-MY! We are excited that we have had the pleasure of chatting with you and seeing you perform! Make sure to tell Donnie that we purchased two copies of your CD, even though we already had two copies from the launch party! We are hoping to score a little forgivness, we aren't sure how he felt hearing "I Don't Give a F*ck" blasting through the car when he stuck his head in :)

Meghan, Ethan, and Michelle

NKOTB-Have we told you lately that you have an awesome band??????? They are not only amazing musicians, but they are so interactive with the fans! Ethan, Fish, Chris, Rob-YOU ROCK!

Meghan, Donnie, Rob Lewis, and Michelle

Rob...Michelle promises the next time she walks by you she will give you a hug :) She really wasn't trying to snub you :)

Meghan, Big J, Michelle

Big J....If only you worked for the New Kids full time :( Thanks for being awesome to us in Camden! Anyone that trashed talked you on the cruise is crazy! You were very sweet to us and only doing your job. We can't wait to see you on the next cruise, whenever that may be ;)

To all of the guys... Joe McIntyre, Jon Knight, Jordan Knight, Danny Wood, and Donnie Wahlberg (and your families who so graciously let us "have you" each and every day!)

Thank you for coming back! Thank you for continuing to tour, day after day, month after month, without much of a break. Thank you for continuing to give even when you are exhausted and hurt (Jordan we heard you could hardly move in Toronto you were in so much pain!)! The Full Service Tour has been amazing! You guys have given 110% and we are so lucky to have had all of the oppurtnities we have had.

Meghan, Donnie, Michelle

Donnie, we would like to thank you in particular for everything that you have done for us. We couldn't have attended as many shows as we have without you and your encouragement. You have given us so much, much more then we could ever ask for. Thank you for always having time for all of your fans (especially all the time you have shown us!). For visiting with us after the show, even when we know you are exhausted (and have wet pants because you have an ice pack on your ass!). Thank you for taking the time to make every person feel like you care when you are with them and like we truly are your friends :) You are an amazing guy Mr Wahlberg and we hope that you know how much you give to others each and every day!

Michelle, Donnie, Vanessa, Meghan

To all of the people that we didn't get to spend time with at a show (and we should of!) especially Suzi and Rodelyn, as well as all of the people who went to shows (just not ours!), especially Sabrina and Alice, ....are you sure that you don't want to come to Texas???????

To all of our loyal blog readers and all of the people we have met along the way....Thank you for taking the time to visit our blog, check our twitter, or just stop and chat with us. Who knew that so many of you would actually care what we have to say (are there really 1800 of you following our random nonsense on Twitter?????). We appreciate all of you! We may not know each of you personally, but please know you have made an impact on us and helped to make this experience so much more enjoyable!

And finally....to all of our friends who have not yet been a part of our summer tour, but we will see at one of our six upcoming shows (especially our West Coast friends Gabby, Cori, Michelle and Deb!).... WE CAN NOT WAIT! We know the adventures that await us are going to be awesome and we hope that each of you and the world is ready :)

M&M (who hope we didn't forget anybody and that all of our thank yous make up a little bit for the fact that we have been bad, bad bloggers!)

PS-To all of the people at home who making our "touring" possible.... we appreciate you too! Thank you for the dog sitting, the house sitting, making sure the center is covered, working extra hours, and just plain pitching in to make sure we can take our vacation time! YOU ARE ALL AWESOME TOO and WE LOVE YOU :)

Traffic, Rain, Guadalajara's-Full Service at Virginia Beach

Loyal Readers…are you waiting for an apology…an excuse as to why we haven’t blogged about our adventures yet…bet you were…but not tonight…tonight you are getting an actual blog post about our Jam-Packed June tour...that’s right…we promise! (but yeah, unfortunately you know there is still going to be some wordy blabbering before we actually get to it…) Some of you are now wondering what happened to the rest of the cruise stories…we haven’t forgotten them…you will get them…but we’ve decided to catch up on the concerts and then go back and talk about the cruise…so here we go…weekend number one of concerts…concert number one…Virginia Beach…

As some of you remember, our Jam-Packed June Tour did not start off well…we weren’t able to leave until much later than planned…which put us smack dab in the middle of horrendous Friday afternoon traffic (let’s discuss HOV lanes here a moment…wonderful concept…particularly when the other lanes are at a complete standstill and you have 3 people in your vehicle…know what’s not such a great concept?…putting the entrances to the HOV lanes so far apart, so that said vehicle with 3 people (don’t forget Vanessa joined us!) in it has to sit in complete standstill traffic watching cars (including big fat cheating cars with only two people in them!) in the HOV fly by…not fun!…know what’s even worse than that?…silly gps’ that act up and tell the (non-cheating) people in the car that finally made it into the HOV lane that they have to exit and then when they exit, recalculate and decide that they aren’t exiting after all…resulting in car (with 3 wonderful people in it…) sitting back in the standstill traffic…yeah, Biscuit the GPS went into timeout for that one!) The traffic really was crazy. So crazy in fact, that we were discussing the possibility of just giving up and turning around because it was becoming more and more a realistic possibility that we might miss the entire show…but really…loyal blog readers, you know us better than that…we aren’t quitters…especially not when it’s the second show of a new tour…a new show that we hadn’t seen…and had missed the first show the night before…we continued to truck (Truck and Fish…it’s on the Jam-Packed June Summer Tour Soundtrack…) on through the monsoon…(no, not exaggerating…it was torrential down-pouring out…complete with flash flood warnings…bad rain…not fun!)
We eventually made it to the parking lot, found a spot and splashed our way to the entrance…while there is something absolutely lovely about being outdoors on a warm summer evening, listening to live music (from your favorite group…) we very quickly were reminded of the various reasons we don’t always enjoy outdoor arenas (something about rainy, yet hot and humid weather, fighting your way through a wall of bugs, sloshing your way through the puddles of rainwater, beer, and goodness knows what else, entrances that are a million miles away from the parking lot…just makes you go eccchhh!)
We had amazing seats; we were in the second row behind the pit, dead center. And although we were late (came in during Dirty Dancing…sorry to all the people we had to climb over…) we were immediately taken by the new show. We may or may not have peeked at spoilers from the first concert in Atlanta (although we did a GOOD job of not looking at youtube vids…even though they were coming straight to Michelle’s phone, tempting us…) but there was just something amazing about actually being there and experiencing it live. It is an INCREDIBLE show…we loved the Fall and Spring tours and didn’t know how we would feel about the changes, but we approve :-)...Seriously, it’s a really good show…

The boys don't change outfits as often this show...and they wear a lot of long sleeves...hmmm..must be HOT! (and really, white outfits in the Fall, Black in the Summer?) but they manage to pull it all off and look quite good throughout...

Flames, Bursts of Fireworks, Video Clips, Scrolling Messages...the show has a lot more special effects this go around...

Although it is no longer out in the middle of the audience but rather part of the main stage set-up, the circular stage returns...it is put to use in various ways throughout the show, shown here raising the boys up as they sing One Song (which of course is a new song for this tour...)

Changing things up a bit...the guys sing If You Go Away and Stare At You

But of course, some of the old favorites remain, here Joe sings Please Don't Go Girl, with lots of heart and soul...

The boys also continue to joke around with each other throughout the show. Seeing them enjoy themselves so much up on stage is one of the best parts of the concert! You never know what silly things they will do (and how they will pick on Jon next! :-)

Our guys take time out of the show to acknowledge each other and allow us to show our appreciation for each one of them individually

Joey Joe, You're My Popsicle...yes Joe, we ARE happy now...Joe truly tries to please the fans during his solo...he performs Popsicle, complete with old school dance moves and that famous hat...he then performs 5 Brothers and a Million Sisters, which wows us each time...Both in the Spring and now, Joe's solo time, has been one of our favorite parts of the concert

Jordan changes his solo up a bit too. Gone is the fan and the abs(well technically there still there, they're just covered by a tank...) and here are the Jabbas...yup, Jordan incorporates the Jabbawockees into his solo routine...

As is always the case, the concert flew on by and before we knew it five boys clad in Red Sox Jerseys (given to them by our friends, the Bostons!) and shorts were telling us to wave our arms along to Hangin Tough…a sure sign the concert is coming to an end…(uggghhh…how are we ever going to get through this at the Houston show…)
After the show, we met up with our friend Kristi (Kristi was in our five star group with us…hmm….BEST FIVE STAR GROUP EVER!!!!!) The four of us decided that although we were in no shape to attend the after-party (somehow don’t think most clubs’ dress codes include the drowned rat style…especially since we were soo late that we didn’t even have time to change into Missing Sh*t attire (like how we act like dry, missing sh*t shirts would be appropriate club attire…ha!)…yup…we attended the first concert in our work T-Shirts…crazy, right! Actually started a bit of a trend for us, we’ve attended a few of our concerts thus far, incognito…best part…you loyal blog readers still find us…:-) ) it might be fun to try to catch a hug from Donnie before he went into the after-party.
We trekked across the world’s biggest parking lot where we were serenaded by bullfrogs (thanks for identifying that for us, Kristi!) and had to practically swim through the puddles (seriously, they were so big that cars had to be towed out of them! …still not sure why Kristi and Vanessa were unwilling to lay down and form a bridge for us…) We finally made it to our cars, entered the address we had found for Guadalajara’s (after party location) and we were off. We didn’t find anything strange about the fact that the GPS was saying it was 15 minutes away because honestly, that’s not that far…we weren’t thrown off that we seemed to be driving to the middle of nowhere…we weren’t even thrown off by the fact that it appeared we were headed into a strip mall (hey, we’ve partied in far stranger places…) (hmmm…everyone does know what a strip mall is, right??? I mean…we were reminded during this series of adventures that some people in different parts of the country call things different names…for example, Vanessa and about two other people in the world refer to blacktop as hottop…and if you don’t refer to strip malls as such, then talking about partying in one is probably scaring you…strip malls are just a bunch of stores and usually a restaurant or two that are connected, but that all have separate entrances…very suburban…) what exactly did throw us you ask? Well…one little strange fact…the fact that we could see into the restaurant (yeah, this wasn’t a club…) as it was open on all sides…and instead of a mix of eager faced fellow fans…we were staring at a building full of boys…no, not kidding…and don’t be confused…when we say boys, we don’t mean THE BOYS…we mean guys…in their khaki shorts and white hats on backwards, sitting around..yup…hardly a female in sight…not what you’d expect to find at Donnie’s after-party…after a few seconds of staring at each other with confused looks, it occurred to us that there might be more than one Guadalajara’s (we know, we know…not likely, but possible..and more likely then this restaurant full of boys being the after-party location.)
We entered it into the GPS and low and behold, there wasn’t one more choice…but FOUR more choices…no, we’re not kidding…apparently Virginia Beach is really fond of the name…we didn’t have much time and so we selected one to try out and called on who else but loyal blog reader Alice, who was at home, to figure out which one was the right one. As she researched it for us, we headed to the next address…apparently that Guadalajara’s (seriously a lot of a’s in that name…) has such a reputation it doesn’t need a sign announcing it’s location or it was shut down by the board of health (surprisingly, this option is the least likely of the two, because based on our later “breakfast” experience, we don’t believe the board of health visits Virginia Beach on a regular basis…) because we couldn’t locate it. Finally, LBR Alice was able to locate the correct address and we zoomed off. We arrived just in time to see the crowd inside and the limos pull away…arghh! We tried to look on the positive side of things and decided that it was just as well that we didn’t get to see him as if we had, we probably would have decided that we could go inside for a “little while” and soggy jeans wearing girls do not belong at afterparties…particularly soggy jeans wearing girls that have a four hour drive back and need to meet non-nkotb friends (the ones who do NOT find any excuse for being late that involves the name Donnie Wahlberg to be acceptable) at 7 a.m. for the Susan G Komen 5K Walk…

So in the cons column, we have the fact that a four hour trip took us over seven hours, we got soaked, were chewed on by bugs, we missed a good deal of the show, we missed getting some facetime with Mr. Wahlberg

In the pros column, we have the fact that we got to attend the second concert of the Full Service tour, spend time with good friends, and share about a thousand laughs (oh, and Meghan was gifted a stringcheese in her 7-11 bag, obviously a wonderful surprise!)

Hmmm…no question that the Pros column is the clear winner!

M&M (who are still wondering what the other two Guadalajaras are like…)

Semi-Finalists in Donnie Wahlberg's Logo Contest!

Did you enter Donnie Wahlberg's Logo Contest? We did! It seems like a long, long time ago that we emailed away our logos. We were very excited for our friends who started receiving emails on Tuesday that they were semi-finalists in the contest! We can be honest and admit that our happiness for them started to turn to sadness by Thursday morning when it seemed like every single other person who entered the contest had received an email saying they were a semi-finalist. We were beginning to wonder if Donnie Wahlberg (and Igor) were playing a mean trick on us (hey, it isn't out of the question....).

Then Thursday evening, as we were heading into our NKOTB concert at Mohegan Sun, we got our email! We were semi-finalists too! As you can imagine we were not only proud, but also very excited (we don't like to be left out of anything fun, especially competitions!). We went along our merry way, enjoyed the concert, a night with our friends, and actually got some sleep (I mean when you pay $450 a night for a room....you better do more then shower there!). As we were checking out in the morning our WONDERFUL friend (thank you Andrea!) reminded us that we needed to return our signed release to the Lab for the Logo contest. Off we marched to the Mohegan Sun business center. Let me tell you.... for a nice hotel, their business center SUCKS! Their computers were even worse then ours! And the nice gentleman, pacing back in forth in front of us during our entire allotted 15 minutes on the computer, was not very excited that we were busy taking multiple pictures of ourselves and our signed release forms with my blackberry for the contest. We finally got the computer to work and sent off our signed release form (with attached photos!). We were pretty excited to get to be a part of the contest, but didn't dwell on it too much as we still had a concert that night in BOSTON to prepare for!

Honestly, with all the excitement of the Boston concert and spending the next day touring Boston with 13 of our closest friends... I don't know if we even thought anymore about the Logo contest. On Sunday we woke up to tweets from Donnie to vote on the five finalists in each category. Unfortunately for us, we weren't finalists :( But, you win some and you lose some. We are ok with losing this.... Donnie Wahlberg has already given us so much already, we are good sharers, it is definitely someone else's turn!

But, we wanted to share our logos with you! We only submitted two...we were under pressure and couldn't come up with something we thought was acceptable for the other two in a timely manner (did I mention we are perfectionists????????).

This is our submission for the DDUB's Soldiers Logo. We like it quite a bit :) In fact, we are considering making our own T-shirts out of it!

This was our submission for the "Choose Your Own Logo". We thought since the boys find themselves soooooooo funny when they call tweets, twats, we would do got twats? shirts with their twitter addresses on them. In fact, we actually made the shirts for all of the boys and delivered them to Donnie on one of the first stops of our tour :)

We sincerely wish the best of luck to everyone in the finals! We hope that all of our readers will go vote on your favorite logo! The voting is open until Friday, June 25th at midnight PST. Here are the links if you need them:

Daddy's Girl...

...HOW in the world are we already TEN(!) concerts into the Full Service Tour and we haven't really blogged much about our adventures at all...crazy, right? We haven't forgotten all of you, promise...just been dealing with some stuff and a hectic touring schedule to boot(did anyone ever find me the origin of that phrase??.) Things should hopefully quiet down soon and we will catch up...
And I'm sorry to disappoint you loyal readers, but tonight, I'm not writing about my five favorite men from Boston(although I do hope they all had a wonderful Father's Day!)... Instead, I'm going to write about one of my all time favorite men, the very first man in my life, my Daddy :-)
After hearing so many sad stories in my life about not so great dads, (you know the ones who abandoned their families, or worse who stayed physically present but abandoned them emotionally, dads who beat their children, dads who spent more time with a bottle then with their children...unfortunately, the list could go on...) I am amazed at how fortunate and blessed I am to have been "given" the parents I was "given" . There aren't enough words in the world to describe my amazing mother and if I started to talk about her I would never stop but
my father deserves a whole book written about him as well...
He has given so much to me...he has provided for me, kept me safe, read to me, tucked me in, driven me to/from, given me money, band-aided my booboos, laughed with me, applauded for me, carried me, bragged about me, worried for me, fought for me, held my hand, shopped for me, cooked for me, fixed things for me, found things for me, handled my banking for me, detangled things for me, mended my broken heart for me, scared some sense into me, painted for me, sacrificed for me, supported me, rescued me, swam for me, vacationed me, taught me, the list goes on and on...but most importantly, he loved me...and no matter how old I get, I will always be grateful for that love...
I LOVE YOU, DADDY! :-) (and Happy Birthday, too!)
I hope that all the Fathers, Dads, Daddies, Pas, Papas, Dada, Das, Pops, Pop, PopPops, Grandfathers, Granpas, Grandad, Opa, Popos, Uncles, and other Father figures in your life had an amazing, Happy Father's Day...
Meghan (who is smiling as she thinks about all the amazing fathers she knows including the one who is celebrating his very first Father's Day! :-)

Sad News For Loyal Australian Blog Readers...

It's always sad to share the bad news...we have loyal Australian Blog Readers and know that they were looking quite forward to getting some "Full Service" this August...

We had heard some speculation that the Australian Tour might get cancelled and were hoping that it was just rumors...unfortunately, it appears to be true...

Taken from NKOTB.COM

June 15th, 2009

Due to circumstances beyond their control, the New Kids On The Block have been forced to cancel their upcoming Australian tour dates. The group is incredibly disappointed and very sorry they won’t be able to perform in Australia at this time. The guys are very grateful for all the love and support from their Australian fans.

And Donnie wanted to add his sincere thoughts...

June 15th, 2009

Hey All-

In response to so many of the Aussie fans amazing efforts and the collecting of signatures of thousands- our promoters, as well as our management team, worked incredibly hard to make an Australian tour a reality….

Despite warnings that the financial problems plaguing the world would compromise the Australian tour- they never gave up on this dream and neither did we.

However-

I’m sorry to say that now- it is true.

We are not going to Australia.

Like many of our fans down under- we too are saddened.

Australia has always, ALWAYS, been one of our favorite places to travel to.

And quite honestly- we tried very hard to make it work.

However- we are, in fact, in the middle of a worldwide recession and we just cannot make it work.

That is the simple truth.

We have exhausted efforts to tie in the Far East to Australia and find other creative ways to make this work…

It is just too complex at this time.

We can only assure you that when the recession’s stranglehold on the world’s economies eases up a bit- we will find a way to make this work.

Thank you for understanding and please trust- that we will do all we can to continue to give The Fullest Of Service to all of our amazing fans WORLDWIDE.

As Always Your Man,

Donnie W.

PS- The Party Is Not Over!!!!!!!!!!

Again, we are sorry for everyone who is missing out on the show...on a positive note, sounds like the boys might be doing another tour in the future(yay!), and maybe they will kick it off in Australia!

M&M (who think that their Australian friends should come on over to the US for the Texas show...just sayin... :-)
